WINONA, MN -- Winona State University baseball head coach Kyle Poock has announced that eight players have signed national letters of intent for the 2009-2010 season.
The breakdown of the signees included three outfielders (Ross Fassbinder, Oak Creek, WI, Cody Strang, Solon, IA and Lucas Warren, La Crosse, WI) and pitchers (Brandon Verthein, La Crescent, MN, Derek Wojcik, Elk Grove Village, IL and Matthew Garavalia, Stillwater, MN) and two infielders (Jonathan Nelson, Johnston, IA and Seth McMullen, Wausau, WI).
Earlier in the year Coach Poock signed, catcher, Brett Young (Appleton, WI) during the early signing period.
"This is a very athletic group who are top-notch baseball players as well as outstanding young men," described Poock of his signing class. "Our coaching staff is looking forward to working with these players over the next several years.
"They will add strength and depth to our roster."
Winona State is a NCAA Division II university and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
