MANKATO, Minn – The Winona State track and field team competed in the first day of the Minnesota State Multi and Open in Mankato Friday afternoon.
The distance medley relay team of
McKenzie Carper,
Catherine Whitcomb,
Katie Bagley and
Jordan Skelly came home with a first place finish with a time of 12:21.83, which was good enough for the second-fastest time in school history. The team of
Leah Karsten,
Kelsey Bethke,
Madison Schroeder and
Chelsea Schrubbe crossed the line with a time of 12:44.11 for a third place finish, and the ninth-fastest time in school history.
Kaitlyn Long recorded her second provisional qualifying mark in as many meets with a weight throw of 58' 3 3/4" (17.77 meters) for a second place finish in the event. Long also placed in the top 10 of the Winona State record book once again, as her throw was good enough for the ninth best in school history.
The Warriors will continue competition at the Minnesota State Multi and Open on Saturday at the Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato.
