MANKATO, Minn. – The Warriors only competed in two events Saturday, but they made it count, setting a program record and a provisional qualifying mark at the Ted Nelson Classic Saturday in Mankato.
The Winona State distance medley relay team of Chelsea Schrubbe, Catherine Whitcomb, Katie Bagley and Jordan Skelly set a school record in the event and a provisional qualifying mark with a time of 12:13:33, good for the 15th best DMR time in Division II this season.
Hannah Mueller also had a strong showing with a third-place finish in the long jump, recording a distance of 17' 8 1/4" (5.39 meters).
The Warriors will now look forward to two events next weekend. Winona State will compete in The Showcase in St. Paul next Friday and then compete at the NSIC Multi-Event Championships in Mankato next Sunday.
