ALLENDALE, Mich. – Senior
Jordan Skelly advanced to compete one more time in her Warrior career, qualifying Thursday for the 3000-meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships hosted by Grand Valley in Allendale, Michigan.
Skelly finished the race in 10th place with a time of 10:37.12. The top 12 finishers in the event qualified for the final on Friday.
The Warriors also had two competitors in the hammer throw finals. Senior
Alissa Rausch finished 11th with a toss of 53.63-meters (175' 11"), while freshman
Kaitlyn Long finished her first outdoor championship in 17th with a throw of 52.37-meters (171' 10").
Winona State will continue competition on Friday. Rausch – the nation's top seed – along with sophomore
Delaney Miller will compete in the discus throw at 1 p.m. (CST) and Skelly will finish out the day for the Warriors in the 3000-meter steeplechase final at 6:15 p.m.
