McCauley Named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Thanks to two record-breaking 50+ yard field goals, Winona State kicker Carter McCauley has been named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week, the conferenced announced Monday.

McCauley was perfect in a 38-7 win over Minot State, going 3-for-3 on field goals, while making all three PATs and booming three touchbacks.

The sophomore from Owatonna, Minn. booted a 53-yard field goal with 10 seconds to go in the first half to set the record for the longest kick in Winona State history, topping the previous mark of 47 yards set by Cullen Fahey in 2008.

That record didn't last long, as McCauley topped his effort with a 54-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to break his mark and set the top two longest kicks by Warrior.
