OSHKOSH, Wis. – Hailey Deschaine and Andrea Bartz each won events to lead the Winona State track and field team at UW-Oshkosh Friday.
The Warriors swept the top three spots in the long jump, as Deschaine reached a provisional qualifying mark while taking first in the long with a distance of 5.57 meters (18' 3 ¼"). Bartz finished second at 5.29 meters (17' 4 ¼") and Alexandria Schmidt was third at 5.27 meters (17' 3 ½").
WSU also finished one-two in the triple jump, with Bartz winning the event with a jump of 11.47 meters (37' 7 ¾") and Amanda Schaefer finishing second at 10.98 meters (36 ¼").
Schaefer also took second place in the high jump with a provisional qualifying mark of 5' 5 ¼".
In the Warriors' lone running event of the day, Tamika Tucker earned a second place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.54.
Next on the schedule for the Warriors is The Showcase at St. Thomas next Friday, Feb. 12 in St. Paul.
