WINONA, Minn. – Winona State has announced five Warrior greats that will make up the Winona State Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

Kristi (Andersen) Loose, Jeff Bunke, Annemarie (Green) Kraft, Tom Ochs and Deidra Schumacher have been selected as the latest group to join WSU's coveted hall of fame.

"We are very excited to be welcome these five Warriors into our Hall of Fame," said WSU Athletic Director Eric Schoh. "These individuals represent the highest levels of success in different eras of WSU's history and will make great additions to the Hall of Fame."

The 2016 Winona State Hall of Fame Class will be inducted on Saturday, October 15, 2016 as part of WSU's annual Homecoming festivities.

Kristi (Andersen) Loose, one of the top players in WSU softball history, was named NSIC Player of the Year as a senior in 2002 and graduated as WSU's career leader in runs scored, second in hits and fourth in stolen bases. Jeff Bunke was a standout track and field athlete in the early 1970s, becoming WSU's first track and field All-American who qualified for the national championships four times in three years. Annemarie (Green) Kraft is a five-time All-American gymnast from 1994-98 who won All-Around titles in 20 of her 40 career meets. Tom Ochs broke numerous men's track and field records that still stand today as an All-American and captain of the track and field and cross country teams in the late 1960s. Deidra Schumacher was WSU's first-ever Division II track and field All-American, taking fourth at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles and was an NSIC Champion 17 times in 13 different events.
