WAYNE, Neb. – Senior Danielle Rampart recorded 20 kills and 20 digs on Saturday as No. 17 Winona State completed a perfect road trip with a four-set win at No. 20 Wayne State. The Warrior swept No. 15 Augustana to begin the weekend.
WSU overcame a first game slip to Wayne and won the match by set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21.
Winona committed seven attacking errors in the first set, but answered with a dominant .421 hitting percentage in the second set.
The win in set two sparked the Warriors to win three straight and claim the road match.
Rampart's 20-20 stat line was her 12th double-double of the season and her second-highest marks in both kills and digs this year.
The Warriors totaled 79 digs and six blocks in a strong defensive effort.
McKenna Larsen's 18 digs were also her second-highest of the season. The senior had one ace, 10 kills and 48 digs to go along with her defensive contribution.
Maria Wrage led the Warriors with four blocks and was stellar on offense, flooring 15 kills on just 25 swings.
Lauren Kudronowicz and Jordan Runge each had a pair of blocks in the win.
Winona State (16-7, 10-5 NSIC) created some separation in the crowded middle of the conference standings with the weekend sweep, and now sits alone in fifth place.
Wayne State falls to 15-10 (8-7 NSIC) with the loss.
The Warriors return home Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match against (RV) Upper Iowa in Winona.
