WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State gymnastics team put together a 186.750 at the WIAC Championship and the NCGA Regional meet held in McCown Gym. Three Warriors performed well enough to land them a spot at the NCGA National Meet on March 31-April 1st at UW Stout.
The Warriors were led by
Eboni Jackson with a fourth place finish on the balance beam, advancing her to the NCGA Nationals in her second event. Jackson's season average on the floor exercise secured her a spot in the NCGA Individual National Championship meet.
Katie Pipp will advance in the bars and
Kelly Johnston will be advancing in the beam event.
The Warriors started out on the vault, led by
Eboni Jackson with a 9.450 performance. On Jackson's heels were
Alyssa Carroll and
Samia Taylor, both with 9.400 performances. Led by those three, the Warriors put together a 46.650 on the vault.
In their second event of the night, the bars,
Katie Pipp and Jackson both landed 9.450 performances. Sunny Hasebe was the third highest Warrior, finishing with a 9.400. The Warriors tied for their 10th-best score on the event.
Jackson led the way again with a 9.525 finish on the beam, behind her was
Kelly Johnston with a 9.425.
Natalie Koehler added a 9.375 performance.
In the their final rotation of the night,
Breanna Murray was the top Warrior to finish with a 9.475.
Alyssa Carroll added a 9.400 and
Alana Currin landed a 9.350.
UW Whitewater, UW La Crosse and UW Stout will be the teams advancing to represent the WIAC at the NCGA National Championship meet on March 31-April 1st at UW Stout.
